I was told that February was a perfect time to talk about forgiveness. I find myself an expert on the subject, as throughout my life I have experienced many betrayals from people who were supposed to love me. I assume that many of you reading this have as well.

What do you do when someone betrays you? How should you respond? Well, the bible tells us in Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

Wow! Look at those number 7’s. A quick internet search reveals that the number 7 is associated with perfection, security, safety, and rest. When you look at the vibrational frequency scale that many of us are familiar with, I think it becomes very apparent why forgiveness offers us these four gifts: perfection, security, safety, and rest.

They keep us out of the lower vibrational states that allow negative energies to attach to us. If you know someone who has hardened their heart in unforgiveness throughout their lives, it becomes even more obvious what benefits and protection forgiveness offers us. You can see the negative effects of bitterness and negativity in their countenance, and their speech. And if you see auras, I’m sure the problems are even more apparent there.

Let us strive to be people who gladly accept the perfection, security, safety, and rest that are freely offered to us by the Divine through the holy act of forgiveness.

Truly, Tricia
