What are you passionate about? Is it dance, gardening, music, or horses? These past months, my passion has been focused on completing Chronicles of Hope: The Archangels: Book 3. Drafting this last book in the trilogy has taken over my world like an obsession. With the writing done, we are into the details of editing, formatting, and marketing with tasks that take time and different skillsets from talented people. I am delighted several Team Hope members are assisting with the project, and some have written stories to share in the book as we get these messages to you in record time.

It is said, anything worth doing is worth doing right. However, that concept causes people to push pause on their pursuits, what if it isn’t perfect, how do I get through this challenge or roadblock? So many people have amazingly creative ideas yet lack the determination, stamina, and belief in their idea to see it through to fruition. It takes hard work, stick-to-it-ness, some angel blessings, and the right people to assist. We all have dreams. When we make them manifest with the intention to serve humanity, we have discovered our purpose.

My guest today is a perfect example of having a dream, a vision, a passion for what could be done to make a difference, and the tenacity to make her dream come true. With a lifetime obsession for all things with horses, Lynn Petr had an idea, saw beyond the obvious, and used her enthusiasm to push forward. She blazed a trail to bring therapeutic equestrian riding to the forefront. Her passion for healing with horses created an amazing venture that has changed the lives of thousands of people across all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Today I would like to celebrate Lynn’s journey that started when she was very young. As her older sister, I watched her grow from a young girl attached to a bouncy horse named Pony Pal to a brilliant, accomplished woman who started her quest almost 50 years ago. Her dream led to creating an award-winning non-profit organization called STAR – Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding. Now housing 38 horses in two east Tennessee locations, STAR services hundreds of people, young and old with a wide variety of wellness programs.

In today’s show, Lynn shares stories of her determination, with a little stubbornness, and how she surmounted many struggles to bring her passion for horses and her love of children together to create miracles. She is a true inspiration who has blazed paths of healing and peace for so many.
