Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is like a gentle journey into the depths of your mind, where the subconscious takes the spotlight. It's a state of profound awareness where your mind becomes highly receptive to suggestions, allowing you to break free from old habits and embrace new perspectives. Dating back over 3,000 years to ancient civilizations like Egypt and Greece, hypnosis taps into your inner reservoir of potential, inviting you to unlock hidden strengths and overcome obstacles.

In this partnership of empowerment, trust, and respect, you and your hypnotist embark on a collaborative exploration. Through relaxation and focus, distractions fade away, and your subconscious mind eagerly absorbs positive affirmations and guidance. This natural state of heightened awareness brings about a profound sense of mental and physical relaxation, paving the way for personal growth and transformation.

Used alongside conventional therapies or as a standalone tool, hypnosis enriches your journey toward well-being and self-discovery. It's a gentle yet potent ally in your quest for positive change, enhancing your ability to achieve your goals and live a more fulfilling life.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes because it’s voluntary and all hypnosis is truly self-hypnosis.

There are three exceptions:

1) Those who don’t want to be hypnotized.

2) Those who cannot concentrate at all, including people with extreme hyperactivity, very low IQ’s, or those under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

3) Those who refuse to cooperate or follow directions.

Who is in control?

You are in control at all times. In fact, you are probably more in control in hypnosis since you are utilizing a larger portion of your brain. Hypnosis is a do-with and not a do-to process. Hypnotists act as guides for your journey. They help you learn to use the power of your mind and emotions to your full advantage. Clients typically remember everything that happens in a session, and can never be made to do anything that goes against their belief system.

Is Hypnosis recognized as a valid tool?

Yes. In the past, hypnosis has been controversial in western culture, but reputable healthcare providers now agree it can be a powerful, effective therapeutic technique used to complement and enhance traditional healthcare treatments and procedures or personal growth techniques. In fact, today, hypnosis is offered at a wide variety of healthcare facilities and hospitals, including Boston’s own Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as well as Mount Sinai, University of Michigan, University of Washington in Seattle, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Loyola University Medical Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in the Chicago area, among other facilities throughout the country.

Additionally, the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have approved hypnosis for smoking cessation, stress reduction, and behavior modification. It’s taught at Harvard and Stanford medical schools and is used by all branches of the United States Military. The Vatican gave hypnosis a thumbs-up in the 1950’s.

Will my doctor think hypnosis is a good idea?

It depends on how well-educated your doctor is in integrative or complementary medicine. Most physicians are in favor of hypnosis and will suggest you try it and let them know how it goes. We get doctor referrals all the time from MD’s, dentists, and therapists around the world.

Are you unconscious or sleeping during hypnosis?

No. You are in a semi-awake state, like just before you fall asleep, or when you are daydreaming. Most people remember everything about their sessions. At times you may not remember every suggestion because you will be very relaxed. All of the suggestions offered are positive and in your best interests.

Is there any danger of a hypnotized person not waking up?

No. There are NO recorded cases of a person under hypnosis not returning to a normal state/level of functioning. However, clients have been known to fall asleep, or not want to come out of the hypnotic state because it can be so relaxing and euphoric!

What is self-hypnosis?

Self-hypnosis is the ability to get yourself incredibly relaxed and then offer suggestions directly to your own subconscious mind. It is often said that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.

How can self-hypnosis help me?

You can quickly and effectively learn how to relax under stress and pressure. You can discover how to program your mind and body for the attainment of physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual goals, and regain the power of choice in your life. Through self-hypnosis, you will develop more confidence in both yourself and your abilities.

Can anyone be taught self-hypnosis?

Yes. Anyone who is interested in hypnosis and is willing to learn how to do it can achieve wonderful results. We teach our clients self-hypnosis during one of their sessions. Once people feel the deep relaxation and experience the mind-calming benefits, self-hypnosis becomes a healthy part of their lives.

Can hypnosis change someone’s personality?

Hypnosis can enhance certain facets of one’s personality in very positive ways. Those who consistently utilize self-hypnosis develop better awareness, increased confidence, and communication skills, are more relaxed, and resourceful, and able to accomplish goals more efficiently because they are fully using their internal resources. After decades of studying and applying hypnotic principles with clients, I believe hypnosis can help individuals accomplish goals faster than any other tool in existence!

Does hypnosis really work?

We've been helping people reach their goals for decades, and have yet to find more effective ways to help them succeed. We use a combination of Energy Clearing & Alignment (ECA), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and other advanced hypnosis coaching techniques. Yes, it definitely works!

How many sessions will it take to achieve my goal?

The number of sessions varies from person to person, which is one of the main reasons we start every client with an ECA Foundation Program. In the preliminary 2-hour session, we get a thorough history and an initial energy assessment. We are serious about getting you results, which is why we tailor a program to fit your specific needs. Most adults achieve significant results in 4-7 sessions. Since children carry less baggage, they require fewer sessions. In most cases, especially for weight loss, you will benefit from monthly sessions over some time.

Hypnosis is never a quick fix. It works better, faster, and lasts longer than other solutions. It is similar to going to a personal trainer to work out. You cannot grow muscles in one or two visits, it takes time. Consider that hypnosis is a tool to help you grow new mental muscles... new neuro-pathways. It takes longer for some clients than others. It also depends on what you want to work on. Our clients get amazing results in a reasonable time. We care about our clients and are passionate about helping them succeed. That speaks for itself.

How long does hypnosis last?

Hypnosis lasts as long as you want it to. We teach you how to use self-hypnosis so that you can continue to get and/or keep results. Like anything else, regular maintenance and practice is necessary, yet the principles taught become like second-nature, so the process seems easy and effortless.

Can you be made to do things you don’t want to do?

No. You are always in control of your mind, and actions. You would never do anything against your own moral code. When you see entertainment shows with people that appear to be sleeping and acting silly, it is because they want to act silly. If the subjects were actually sleeping, it would be a very boring show!

Can hypnosis open your mind up to the devil?

No. This myth has no basis in reality. Actually, we believe that having faith in your higher self will make you more successful as a human being. We feel that you are blessed with an amazing mind, body and spirit. As such, we respect your personal beliefs and work on all levels, connecting you with Master Guides, your wise mind, higher self, angels, or passed over loved ones. They often give amazing insight, clarity, and guidance in the sessions.

Are your services confidential?

Absolutely. Coming from a medical background, we respect HIPAA confidentiality. Nobody will know you are a client unless you tell them, which we hope you do! Once you discover how effective and motivating our programs are, you’ll want to tell your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, employers, employees, doctors, and anyone else who can benefit as you did.

How much does it cost?

Cost depends on your individual needs. All clients start with an ECA Foundation Program which includes a detailed intake with an initial energy-clearing session, followed by one or more clearing or hypnosis sessions, depending on what we recommend at the initial session.

Secure your program online with a deposit and pay the balance the day of your second session. Flex spending and HSA cards can be used for hypnosis. We offer Sponsorship Programs for those with financial hardships, yet are sincere about a commitment to improving their life.

Where do I find the pricing for your sessions and programs?

You can find our programs, pricing, and more on the Contact page of our website. You can also discover pricing comparisons on the ECA page. Remember, we offer programs for those who are financially challenged. The real question is, “Are you ready?”

Does insurance cover your services?

Some employers offer FLEX plans to cover hypnosis-based weight loss and smoking cessation programs. HSA plans can also be used. We recommend you check with your provider first.

Why do I need an initial clearing session?

Our team has found that clearing your energy will help you with future sessions to make your mind calmer, your life healthier, and your goals more easily attainable.
